Mothership Corp. Strip 1

The Cornell Crier version. I kind of like Captain Garth in a suit and tie!

Strip 32

Just a small break from the Mancoons epic. Mothership is being published in the Cornell Crier (a Markham, Ontario magazine). They are asking for something a little more down to earth...hence the change of uniforms and focus...see next post!

Strip 29, Mancoons

Strip #29 is inspired by the pesky raccoons that raid my garbage in the summer. My house is on a ravine so the little devils can sleep in the forest and come up to my place at night and dine. What amazes me is their intelligence and determination. No device or lock seems to repel them from their prize. I had a good laugh at a friend who is fighting them in his northern home, with traps and poison. I always joke that I will drive up there one day and find him in the trap!
The Mancoons will be recurring villains in Mothership. Much more intelligent and determined than the crew, the M.S. Canem is in big trouble. I cant wait to draw more.

Strip #28 Ear Communicator

This strip was inspired by a very proud individual I saw in a store with his Bluetooth ear piece on. It kind of stuck out from his ear and it had a very bright blue flashing light. I have never seen a person that looked so ridiculous, look so proud of himself. It amazes me how individuals feel elevated by their technological devices. Hey I love my iPod but do I need to carry it around in full view just to be admired, come'on! The cell ear piece and Blackberry must be the worst of the bunch. At least with the Blackberry it can be tucked away in your pocket!

My only regret is that I did not produce this strip earlier, at the height of the ear piece fad. I had it in my mind for a few years but decided to put it to ink before it was too late.

Mothership is back

Sorry for the delay, been busy and lazy. Now due to the writers strike I can take advantage of the lack of good quality entertainment on TV and work on the strip. Mothership will move away from being a continuous story line, although a couple of strips will tie together. That way it will be more marketable to the newspapers. I have sketched a couple of strips already featuring Manga Mirror and Mancoons, which should provide some interesting reoccurring characters. Stay tuned...
